TRA4327 Night Safari Recap: Lau Shui Heung Reservoir

On 1 April 2026, students from the course TRA4327 Eco-Translation, led by Prof. Darryl Sterk, stepped into the dark to discover the nocturnal world at Lau Shui Heung Reservoir with eco-guide and snake-catcher Mr. Ray So, the author of “Amphibians and Reptiles in Hong Kong”. From observing wildlife in its natural habitat to connecting what they saw with natural science knowledge, the trip turned classroom learning into living, breathing nature.

It was more than a night walk—it was a lesson in how to see, understand, and translate the natural world for others.
