Programme Structure
MLS students are expected to complete 30 credits. Apart from the four core courses (12 credits) and one or two practice course(s) (6 credits), for students who choose to peruse a concentration, they must:
(1) take the three concentration required courses (9 credits) of the respective concentration and one programme elective course (3 credits); and
(2) complete their selected practice course(s), with the field trips, events and/or projects in the practice course(s) associated with their chosen concentration.
For students who choose not to peruse a concentration, they can choose any 4 courses (12 credits) from the concentration required courses and/or programme elective courses to fulfil the graduation requirement.

The MLS programme offers three concentrations:
Applied Sports and Health Science (應用運動及健康科學) [For Fall intake only]
This is a concentration that integrates scientific principles with practical applications in sports, exercise, and health management. It covers key topics such as exercise physiology, sports nutrition, health promotion and development of associate business including event management and business planning. This concentration is designed to equip sports background students with the analytical skills and technologies to establish a solid career in the related field. Graduates are prepared for careers in sports coaching, fitness training, health education, and sports events/business management. With an emphasis on evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary approaches, the concentration enables students to contribute meaningfully to public health initiatives and meet the growing societal demand for healthier lifestyles.
Music and Performance (音樂與表演)
In the era of high technology and AI, music and the performing arts are undergoing significant transformations. Technological innovations have revolutionised music production, performance, appreciation, as well as related education and business practices, moving beyond traditional models. This concentration is designed to equip students with a solid foundation in music and performance education, alongside the integration of traditional music and performance skills, with the latest technological advancements. Students of this concentration will learn how to utilise AI in areas including composition, education, performance, and business operations. They will be well-prepared with a strong academic foundation to pursue careers in profession of education, the music industry, performance arts, and/or commercial entertainment.
Applied Arts in TechMedia (科技新媒體應用藝術)
This concentration focuses on the intersection of technology with media and arts, preparing students with relevant backgrounds to navigate and innovate within the rapidly evolving digital landscape. As one of the most in-demand fields today, new media blends traditional media communication concepts with high-tech content creation, distribution channels, and promotional platforms. This concentration covers topics such as digital media production, interactive design, visual communication, and the integration of traditional artistic techniques with modern technology. Students will learn to create compelling visual and multimedia content, utilising the latest tools and software in digital art and media. The concentration emphasises both creative and technical skills, enabling graduates to apply their knowledge in diverse fields, including digital marketing, media production, entertainment, and virtual reality. By blending artistic expression with cutting-edge technology, this concentration aims to produce versatile professionals who can lead and innovate in the expanding world of digital media and arts.
For students who choose a concentration, they must complete all three concentration required courses for the award of the concentration.
