Local Students

A. General Admission Requirements

Applicants must have fulfilled one of the following entrance requirements:
(i) HKDSE

English Language:   Level 3
Chinese Language: Level 3
Mathematics:  Level 2
Liberal Studies:    Level 2
One Elective Subject: Level 2
or
(ii) A degree or sub-degree awarded by a recognized post-secondary institution.   or
(iii) Other acceptable local and non-local qualifications as specified at www.ln.edu.hk/admissions/ug/non-jupas/how-to-apply/admission-requirements.

 

​B. English Language Requirements

In addition to the General Admission Requirements, applicants are also required to fulfil one of the English language requirements. For details, please refer to www.ln.edu.hk/admissions/ug/non-jupas/how-to-apply/admission-requirements.

Non-local Students

Applicants from overseas and Mainland China are welcome to make applications.
 
For non-local applicants holding qualifications other than Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) or Joint Entrance Examination for Universities in PRC (Gao Kao) examination results, please refer to www.ln.edu.hk/admissions/ug/overseas/requirements.php.
 
Applicants with either Arts or Science background of Joint Entrance Examination for Universities in PRC (Gao Kao) examination results are eligible to apply for this programme. For details, please refer to www.ln.edu.hk/admissions/ug/mainland/requirements.php
 
Applicants have to fulfill English language requirements. For details, please refer to the table below. To allow sufficient time to process application, applicants are strongly advised to take the relevant English examination(s) by June.

  • Grade 4 in reformed IGCSE English / English Language / English Literature
International Baccalaureate (IB) Grade 4 in English Language
TOEFL 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based)
IELTS Overall band score of 6.0 in Academic Module
SAT Reasoning Test One of the following:
  • Pre-March-2016 SAT: Score 8 in essay writing
  • Redesigned SAT: Score 590 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
ACT Score 23 in both English and Reading
AP One of the following:
  • Grade 4 in English Language and Composition
  • Grade 4 in English Literature and Composition
 
Curricula Minimum English Language Requirement
Australia Australian State or Territory High School Certificate Grade 12 English: 80% or equivalent
Canada 70% in Grade 12 English Course
Chinese Mainland A score of 110 (out of 150) in the English subject of National Joint College Entrance Examination (JEE) or equivalent
India SSC / HSC / ISC Standard XII: 70% in English
Malaysia One of the following:
  • Grade C in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) English Language 1119
  • Grade C in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysian (STPM) English Language
  • Band 4 (Aggregate Score: 180-219) in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
  • Grade B4 in UEC Senior English Language
New Zealand NCEA Literacy: 10 credits at Level 2 in subjects on English, with 5 credits in Reading and 5 credits in Writing (Literacy credits of subjects on English are available on the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) website)
Singapore Grade C in H1 General Paper in Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level
Taiwan One of the following:
  • General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT 學科能力測驗) English result within the top percentile (頂標)
  • Advanced Subjects Test (指定科目考試) English result within the top percentile (頂標)
