MIDE - Master of Science in International and Development Economics Programme- SWUFE

Southwest University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) and Lingnan University of Hong Kong (LU) will jointly offer a Master's programme in International Trade, approved by the Ministry of Education on 25 June 2025 (Approval Number: MOE51HK1A20252455N).

This is the first approved Master's programme of its kind in collaboration with mainland China and the Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions by Southwest University of Finance and Economics. The programme is based on the Master’s degree programme in International Trade at Southwest University of Finance and Economics, integrating the high-quality teaching resources from Lingnan University, aiming to cultivate high-level innovative talents in the fields of international and development economics. The strong collaboration between Southwest University of Finance and Economics and Lingnan University fully leverages the advantages of talent development and scientific research in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, which is instrumental in providing significant talent support for high-quality co-construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative, high-level opening up in the new era, and the building of an open highland in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.

The programme offers both dual-degree and single-degree tracks.

This programme awards a Master of Science degree in International and Development Economics by Lingnan University, with degrees recognised by the Ministry of Education's Study Abroad Service Centre. Pre-registration for the programme has officially commenced.

Applicants can download the admissions handbook which provides more detailed information. After filling out the pre-registration form, applicants should email the completed pre-registration form, proof of degree and academic qualifications, transcripts, and English language proficiency certificates in electronic format to [email protected] to complete the pre-registration process.
