Faculty of Business signs the MOU with PKU-HKUST Shenzhen-Hong Kong Institution cum Launching Ceremony of the Social Practice Base in the Greater Bay Area

On 14 December 2022, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between the Faculty of Business, Lingnan University (LUFB) and PKU-HKUST Shenzhen-Hong Kong Institution (IER) cum Launching Ceremony of the Social Practice Base in the Greater Bay Area was held virtually, symbolizing a deeper collaboration with IER in the Greater Bay Area.

The MOU was signed by Prof LENG Mingming, Dean of LUFB and Mr LI Qifeng, Executive Dean of Shenzhen – Hong Kong Development Institute of IER. Prof Nancy CHEN, Associate Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies) of LUFB, Prof SHI Shanshan, Associate Professor of Teaching, Director of Taught Postgraduate Programmes Office of LUFB and Mr LUO Mingxing, Former Chief Financial Officer of Kingdee Software (China) Company Limited also attended the signing and launching ceremony.

In accordance with the MOU, LUFB and IER pledged to formulate strategic partnerships in establishing a Social Practice Base of LUFB in the Greater Bay Area, with an aim to foster quality education, innovation and entrepreneurship, and providing more and better services for instructors and students. Both parties will promote exchanges and cooperation in various aspects such as academic exchanges, education admissions consultation and related services, the connection of scientific research development in the Greater Bay Area, attracting and nurturing diverse talents.

Prof LENG Mingming, Dean of LUFB, remarked, “Leveraging the advantage of LU and IER, the MOU represents an important step of comprehensive cooperation across the border on talent development, academic exchange and other aspects. This partnership on establishing the Social Practice Base in the Greater Bay Area will enhance the learning experience for students by fostering cross-border academic communication, as well as building a long-term good cooperative relationship is conducive to the brand effect of both parties in the Greater Bay Area.”

Mr LI Qifeng, Executive Dean of Shenzhen – Hong Kong Development Institute of IER, commented, “As the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Peking University, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology jointly build the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Industry-University-Research Base, a National Science and Technology Business Incubator, and a Training and Exchange Base for international high-level talents, IER will fully support the establishment of the Social Practice Base in the Greater Bay Area by facilitating collaboration on research and development and providing all-rounded support on innovation and entrepreneurship to groom future leaders.”
