“During my master's studies, the Department of Government and International Affairs (GOV) was not only a sanctuary for my academic exploration but also a haven for my personal growth. With immense gratitude, I reflect on this period filled with challenges and achievements, my heart brimming with deep appreciation for GOV. 

I must especially mention my mentor, Professor Sharma Shalendra. He is not only a scholar of profound knowledge but also a passionate and patient guide. When I was lost, he always illuminated my path with his professional and unique insights; when I encountered difficulties, he supported me with endless patience and encouragement. His teachings, like a gentle spring rain, nourished my mind and strengthened my confidence on the academic journey.

The abundant academic resources and activities provided by GOV have been immensely beneficial to me. The department not only meticulously organized various academic lectures and seminars but also offered a diverse range of courses. These courses not only broadened my academic horizons but also allowed me to hone my abilities and skills in practice. These invaluable experiences undoubtedly laid a solid foundation for my future career path.

Looking back on this time, I am acutely aware that every step of my progress would not have been possible without the careful nurturing of GOV. For all of this, I am filled with gratitude and respect. In the days to come, I will carry this sense of gratitude and responsibility forward, continuing my journey in the academic world and contributing my strength to the progress and development of society.”

“My mother keenly observed that after returning from my studies at Lingnan University, I exhibited a more composed and confident demeanor. Her remark was indeed spot on.

Lingnan University’s campus is not large, but it has offered me a vast window of opportunity, allowing me to connect with outstanding classmates and professors. The experiences of some classmates have left a deep impression on me—they chose to return to campus after working for a period of time. This not only made me profoundly realize the diversity of life paths but also made me aware of the importance of curiosity and execution. This new understanding will become a powerful driving force for my journey ahead, guiding me toward a broader future.

I am deeply grateful to the professors in the Department of Government and International Affairs. Not only do they possess profound academic expertise in their respective fields, but they have also achieved remarkable accomplishments. In particular, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Professor Tam Wai Keung, Professor Zhang Baohui and Professor Marcus Chu for their dedicated guidance. Thanks to Professor Yang Xiangfeng's extensive network, I had the valuable opportunity to engage with renowned scholars both domestically and internationally. These exchanges extended beyond the academic community in China to include scholars from Japan, Korea, and other regions in East Asia.

In conclusion, the Department of Government and International Affairs at Lingnan University has opened a window of opportunity for me, leading to a vast academic world. This invaluable learning experience has not only broadened my academic horizons but also deepened my understanding of international affairs. This fulfilling and unforgettable year will remain a cherished memory in my academic journey.”
