Mongolia-2023

In July, Collaborated with Department of Chinese Language and Literature in Hong Kong Shue Yan University, the Centre staff visited Inner Mongolia to conduct research on Khitan Empire (the Liao dynasty, 916-1125).

Fieldtrip to Hebei Province-2021

In June, 2021, Professor Zhang and postgraduate student Mr. Hu Senhao, collaborated with Hebei University, carried out a fieldtrip to Daming (大名) county in Hebei Province to investigate steles and explore interplays between the water environmental changes and the decline of north China in Late Imperial period. Mr. Hu was preparing his MPhil thesis based on this survey.

North China-2019

In July, Professor Liu and Professor Zhang from the Centre collaborated with East China Normal University and Chinese University of Hong Kong carried out a field trip to North China, focusing on Henan, Shandong, and Hebei province, to explore interplays between the water environmental changes and the decline of north China in Late Imperial period.
