Admission Requirements

General qualifications
  • hold a relevant bachelor's degree awarded by a tertiary education institution recognized for this purpose by the University*; 

  • or have obtained an equivalent qualification; 

  • or have provided satisfactory evidence of academic and professional attainment.  

 

*The equivalence of academic and professional qualification will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Language requirements

  • An applicant whose degree is not from a tertiary institution in Hong Kong or an English-speaking country should obtain a minimum score of 79 (internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) taken before 21 Jan 2026; a minimum score of 4.0 (internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) taken after 21 Jan 2026; 

    a band score of 6.0 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); 

    a minimum score of 450 in the College English Test Band 6 (CET6).

  • Applicants who do not fulfil the above language requirements but have an equivalent score in a recognized test, or an equivalent qualification assessment to prove their language proficiency may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • For IELTS and TOEFL qualifications, the University only accepts results that are within the validity period. The TOEFL iBT® Home Edition will no longer be accepted.

Pre-entry courses

  • Applicants with a non-business degree, and those without a course in Marketing or Economics are required to pass a pre-entry bridging course prior to the start of the MSc programme. The content of the pre-entry bridging course is described in the programme curriculum. Students may also satisfy the pre-entry requirements by taking equivalent courses from other recognised undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The pre-entry bridging course is offered about one month before the start of the MSc programme.
