  • Programme Mode and Arrangement

  1. Is this programme full-time or part-time? What is the duration of study?
    This programme offers both 1-year full-time and 2-year part-time study modes.

  2. What is the teaching mode of the programme? Is there a weekend mode?
    The programme offers both Regular Mode and Weekend Mode. Full-time students can choose either the Regular Mode or Weekend Mode; part-time students primarily attend classes on weekends to accommodate working professionals.

  3. What is the difference between the Weekend Mode and the Regular Mode? Will there be any distinction on the graduation certificate?
    Both the Weekend Mode and Regular Mode are 1-year full-time programmes. The core difference lies in the class schedule:

    a. Regular Mode: Classes are mainly scheduled on weekdays (Monday to Friday).

    b. Weekend Mode: Classes are concentrated on Saturdays and Sundays.

    Both modes require the completion of 30 credits within one year, and the curriculum content, teaching faculty, and assessment standards are entirely identical. Upon successful completion of either mode, students will receive the exact same graduation certificate, conferring the "Master of Social Sciences in Organisational Psychology and Educational Management" degree, with no indication of the specific class attendance mode.

  4. Does the programme have a Spring intake?
    This programme admits new students only in the Fall semester each year, and there is currently no Spring intake arrangement. Please pay attention to the application period announced on the official website.

 

  • Admission Requirements

  1. What are the basic admission requirements for the programme? Is there a specific requirement for the undergraduate major?
    Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. The programme welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds; no specific undergraduate major is required.

  2. Can students without a background in Psychology or Educational Management apply? Are there any prerequisite courses?
    We warmly welcome applicants from non-related backgrounds. The programme does not require prerequisite courses and is designed to help students build knowledge from fundamental to advanced levels.

  3. What are the English language requirements? (e.g., TOEFL/IELTS scores)
    Applicants who graduated from non-English-medium teaching institutions must satisfy one of the following English proficiency requirements:

    TOEFL score of 79 or above (valid score obtained within the past two years); OR

    IELTS overall band score of 6.0 or above (valid score obtained within the past two years); OR

    CET-6 score of 450 or above (valid score obtained within the past five years).

 

  • Application Procedures

  1. How do I submit an application?
    Please submit your application through the Lingnan University Online Application System: https://apply.ln.edu.hk/

  2. What documents are required for the application?
    1) Required documents typically include:

    2) Academic certificates and transcripts；

    3) Proof of English proficiency；

    4) Personal statement；

    5) Confidential recommendation letters；

    6) Other supporting documents (e.g., Curriculum Vitae)

  3. Are there any specific requirements for the number and submission method of recommendation letters?

    There are no strict requirements regarding the number of recommendation letters or the background of the referees. If you have recommendation letters, please upload them directly when completing your application via the Online Application System. There is no need to mail or email them separately to the programme office.

  4. Why can't I access the payment page in the online application system? Why does the system prompt me that I haven't uploaded the required documents?

    a. There are three types of documents required for upload: "Transcripts/Certificates", "ID Card, Passport or Travel Document", and "Others". If you have not uploaded all three types of documents, the system will prevent you from proceeding to payment. If you have no documents to upload in the "Others" section, you may upload a blank page to fulfil the system requirement.

    b. Any false, unclear, or misleading information and/or documents provided by an applicant in the application will lead to disqualification of the application or revocation of the admission offer, and all fees paid (including pre-payment or deposit) will be forfeited. Under Hong Kong law, forging documents is a serious criminal offence, liable upon conviction to imprisonment for up to 14 years.

  5. When will I know the application result?
    We will commence the selection process upon receiving your fully completed application materials. Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend an interview conducted by the Programme Director and/or other teaching staff.
