LEAP Activity: A Half-day Service at House of Joy & Mercy

The community service was offered by the LEAP, School of Graduate Studies in collaboration with the House of Joy & Mercy, was open to all Lingnan University students. On 6 January, a total of 17 participants, including undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and staff joined in the event. Throughout the event, the students learned about the challenges faced by local stray animals and engaged with the Hong Kong community, providing them with valuable insights into the operations of NGOs.

The cleaning service also served as an educational experience, emphasising that pet ownership comes with significant responsibilities. Through interactions with puppies, students were able to cultivate their empathy and understanding of animal welfare.

LEAP will continue to enhance students' community engagement and familiarise them with Hong Kong's local society through similar initiatives in the future.
