LEAP Activity: One Day One Dream: Experience University Life!
On 16 and 17 Dec 2024, the LEAP programme hosted a significant event titled"One Day One Dream: Experience University Life!" (做一天大學生). This enriching event brought together over 300 students and teachers from the Lingnan University Alumni Association (Hong Kong) Primary School (LUAAPS), along with nearly 30 GS TPg and UG students from Lingnan University.
The event featured engaging activities that fostered cultural and athletic exchanges between the primary school students and university students. Through enjoyable games and interactive sessions, participants were able to enhance their understanding and appreciation of each other's backgrounds and experiences.
Students from LUAAPS gained valuable knowledge and had a unique opportunity to experience university life. This hands-on experience allowed them to envision their future academic paths and inspired them to pursue higher education with greater enthusiasm.
For our TPg and UG students, the event was a valuable platform to enhance their organisational and leadership abilities. By participating in the planning and execution of the day's activities, they were able to develop and refine these essential competencies.
Moreover, the event provided an excellent opportunity for non-local students to gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's culture and community. It also served as a meaningful social practice experience, allowing them to apply their learning in a real-world context and positively contribute to the local community.
"One Day One Dream: Experience University Life!" was not only an educational and enjoyable event for all participants but also a testament to the power of collaboration and exchange in fostering mutual understanding and personal growth. The LEAP programme continues to create impactful experiences that bridge gaps and build a more connected and informed community.
