Building on the success of its first run, the LEAP programme under the School of Graduate Studies successfully held the “Wellness Promotion: Healthy Run – Round 2” on 24 April 2025 at the Pan Sutong Sports Ground. Designed to promote both mental and physical well-being, the event brought together students and staff to embrace an active lifestyle and foster a supportive community.

As the sun set, around 10 participants enjoyed a refreshing run from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, with the picturesque golden hour creating an uplifting atmosphere. The activity offered a perfect opportunity to unwind, escape the pressures of daily life, and enjoy the simple, shared joy of movement.

Prof Maggie Lau from the School of Graduate Studies shared, “Participating in the run after a long day proved to be a remarkably rejuvenating experience. It not only allowed me to clear my mind but also fostered meaningful connections with students and colleagues in a positive and uplifting environment. The breathtaking sunset, combined with the spirit of the supportive group, made the event truly memorable. Such moments serve as a gentle reminder to pause, prioritise physical well-being, and embrace the balance between our demanding academic pursuits and personal health. This event has inspired me to integrate more of these mindful breaks into my daily routine.”

Her reflections were echoed by other participants, who expressed their appreciation for the sense of connection and renewal the event provided. The Healthy Run not only promoted healthier habits, but also strengthened bonds within the graduate community, underlining the importance of holistic well-being.
