SPEAKERS

Prof. Albert Ko, Director of Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative, Lingnan University. Prof. Ko, an accomplished tech entrepreneur and award-winning engineer, is renowned for his contributions to international disaster relief and social innovation. With a plethora of accolades spanning from the 2007 Top Outstanding Young Persons Award to the 2022 Geneva Invention Exhibition Gold Award, Albert's expertise extends across artificial intelligence, humanitarian technology, and inclusive entrepreneurship. As Programme Director of MA in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management and MS in Humanitarian Technology and Inclusive Business at Lingnan University, he pioneers liberal arts entrepreneurship education, impacting over 2500 students annually.

Mr. Colum Lowe, Director of Design Age Institute of Royal College of Art, is a seasoned leader in inclusive design across public, private, and charitable sectors. With roles at the Ministry of Justice and Sainsbury’s Homebase, he prioritizes advancing patient safety and inclusivity. Colum's expertise extends to marginalized user groups, including those facing age-related challenges. He holds an MBA in Design Management and brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at the Design Council's flagship program, Designing Demand.

Mr. Nick van der Velde, a Financial Inclusion Lead, develops marketing and business strategies for BoP markets, blending business, marketing, and design. Specializing in user-centered design, pilot conceptualization, and business development, he supports enterprises across India and Europe. Explore his work at Globe-Works.com. Nick holds a Master’s in Strategic Product Design and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design Engineering from Delft University of Technology, focusing on global challenges in agri, food, retail, and water sectors with inclusivity and sustainability.

Ms. Wong Siu Wai is a senior social work supervisor for the Community Development Service at Caritas Hong Kong. She received a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Criminology from The University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the Task Force on Health and Housing of the Grassroots 2021-2024 of HKCSS and the Steering Committee for Minimum Housing Standards Recommendations Report for SDUs published by Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong. After the outbreak of the 2019 epidemic, she explored how to respond to the physical and mental needs of grassroots families through “social-medical collaboration” and aims to build a “Healthy Community.
