Mr. DEJENE ZELEKE Kassahun

Kassahun began his academic path at Woldia University in Ethiopia, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2017. Recognizing the importance of furthering his education, Kassahun pursued a Master's degree in Social Work in Health Care at the University of Debrecen in Hungary. While studying in Hungary, Kassahun participated in many European Commission youth initiatives in countries such as the Netherlands, Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania. This experience not only extended his academic horizons but also introduced him to a variety of ideas on health and social welfare.
Upon returning to Ethiopia, Kassahun has been working as a Sociology and Social Work lecturer at Wolkite University since 2020. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has conducted significant research and implemented various community service initiatives. Kassahun has dedicated himself to social work, notably with minorities and underprivileged people, through a local non-governmental organization (NGO). His job involves advocating for social justice and creating programs to improve the lives of those who are usually overlooked by society.
His dissertation focuses on medical sociology, specifically examining stigma and the health status of marginalized groups in Ethiopia.
