2026 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao University Psychological Counselling Alliance Conference

The University of Macau (UM) hosted the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao University Psychological Counselling Alliance Conference 2026. The event aimed to advance mental health service systems in universities across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and to strengthen exchange and collaboration among them. The event brought together nearly 100 experts and scholars from 30 universities across the region, who explored ways to enhance mental health services in higher education through academic dialogue, sharing of experiences, and professional collaboration.

Speaking at the event, UM Vice Rector Mok Kai Meng noted the growing emphasis on improving mental health support for young people at both national and regional levels. He also highlighted the important role that universities play in promoting mental well-being through education and counselling services.

The conference, which was themed ‘Building and Innovating Mental Health Service Systems in Greater Bay Area Universities’, featured keynote addresses, roundtable discussions, parallel sessions, and visits to community organisations.
