Objectives and mission

The MScESGM programme is designed to nurture a pool of professionals and specialists in environmental, social, and governance management. It intends to equip the students with a good understanding of the theoretical framework and best practices of ESG management in businesses. This programme seeks to address the talent shortage of expertise and qualified staff in ESG management, an increasingly acute problem facing the business community.

Aims of the Programme

The programme aims to:

  • Equip students with an understanding of theories and concepts of ESG management and help students develop an appreciation of sustainability;
  • Enable students to critically analyse the opportunities and challenges of the sustainable community and develop problem-solving skills as effective ESG professionals and specialists;
  • Provide students with the opportunities to engage with the broad sustainable community and develop practical communication skills with various audiences about ESG;
  • Nurture the next generation of ethical sustainability leaders for the betterment of the development of ESG in society.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the MScESGM programme, students should be able to:

  • PILO-1 Demonstrate a mastery of the knowledge and skills required to function effectively as ESG specialists, professionals, and entrepreneurs in for-profit and not-for-profit sustainable establishments;
  • PILO -2 Synthesise and critically analyse the operational and managerial challenges about ESG faced by a sustainable establishment and formulate strategies for creative problem-solving;
  • PILO -3 Communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences and stakeholders of the sustainable establishments with collaborative spirit and teamwork;
  • PILO – 4 Make ethical and socially responsible judgments in professional practices of ESG management.
