  • ESG501 The Economics of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
    The Economics of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) provides students with a foundation understanding and appreciation of the economics concerning ESG. The course helps students to master basic economic methods and use them to analyse ESG-related issues and find solutions. The course covers three areas of economic analysis: microeconomics, macroeconomics, and applied linear regressions and forecasting for practical analysis of ESG issues.
  • ESG502 Sustainable Financial Management
    Sustainable Financial Management introduces sustainable corporate finance, particularly financial decision-making, emphasising sustainability. The focus is on financial decision-making in a market with increasing environmental, Social, and governance demand (ESG). Issues addressed include asset valuation models, investment decision-making, risk analysis, financial planning, working capital management, the cost of capital, and financial markets.
  • ESG503 ESG Accounting and Disclosure
    ESG Accounting and Disclosure provides a framework for developing corporate environmental and social performance measures, assessing their reliability, reporting to external stakeholders, and assisting managers in strategic and operational decisions affecting environmental costs and risks. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the theory and practice of ESG accounting and disclosure. Major topics include the framework and regulation of ESG reporting, the external assurance of ESG reporting, assessment of ESG performance, and accounting for key sustainability issues, such as climate and water.
  • ESG504 Ethics, Law, and Policy for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
    Ethics, Law, and Policy for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) introduces the main rules, principles and concepts of ethics, law, and policy in ESG practices. It evaluates the forces shaping environmental, social, and government policy making. By analysing the policy cycle and the basics of policy development and appraisal, students will better understand the influences that shape the ESG policies and practices locally and globally. The course will also cover the institutions, doctrines, and rules in the business and corporation content to equip students with the knowledge and skills to be ethical decisionmakers in the ESG domain.
  • ESG505 ESG Management and Strategies
    ESG Management and Strategies provide the knowledge required to understand how business organisations work and how they can be managed to create economic and non-economic value for their key stakeholders: customers, employees, investors, business partners, and social communities. Students are expected to gain knowledge and tools to become purpose-driven business leaders, explore the different business models that companies can use to drive change, and explains why purpose-driven businesses are particularly well-positioned to tackle the world’s ESG challenges.
  • ESG511 Sustainability in Hong Kong and Mainland China
    Sustainability in Hong Kong and Mainland China provides the students with an overall understanding of the regulations, guidelines, and measures of the sustainability framework and practices in Hong Kong and Mainland and pinpoints and benchmarks the best practices of ESG management internationally. The course covers sustainable developments in Hong Kong and Mainland China, the roles and importance of NGOs in sustainable development, the environmental problems in China, and sustainability innovation in the future. The course will focus on identifying and evaluating the challenges and issues firms face in integrating environmental, social, and governance factors in managing business organisations in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The students will think critically about the issues and challenges faced by various stakeholders in sustainable development. They engage in meaningful social actions that promote sustainable development locally and beyond.
  • ESG512 ESG Practices in Business
    ESG Practices in Business describes key ESG issues and explains how stakeholders influence corporate ESG performance. It analyses ESG risks and opportunities and assesses ESG company performance using publicly available information. The course enables students to identify and evaluate ESG issues as an essential factor in corporate decision-making. The concourse contents are built on the basic framework for corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and corporate environmental considerations.
  • ESG513 ESG Investing
    ESG Investing emphasises the ESG mindset for almost all investment settings to promote sustainability in the capital market. The course introduces (1) the background, current developments and trends of ESG investing, (2) the participants, institutions, and various financial instruments in the ESG marketplace, and (3) the concepts, framework, techniques, data and toolkits related to using ESG considerations for identifying and informing sustainable investment solutions. The students will grasp ESG analysis and its incorporation into decision-making to ensure sound investment judgment.
  • ESG514 Green Innovation and Entrepreneurship
    Green Innovation and Entrepreneurship provides the background and understanding of creating green products and services through invention, creativity and an entrepreneur’s mindset, focusing on the environmental industry. It articulates the technical and economic fundamentals of important and emerging sustainable technologies and explores entrepreneurial opportunities in green technology and business. The course demonstrates how the economic and technical performance of sustainable technologies can be measured and compared.
  • ESG515 ESG in Marketing
    ESG in Marketing promotes a company's strategy's environmental, social and governance attributes to its investors, buyers and other stakeholders in alignment with corporate purpose and mission. The course introduces the concepts and principles of environmental, social and corporate governance-based marketing, its many applications and implications, and what it means to consumers and other significant audiences. The course aims to equip the students with principles of sustainability-based marketing, harnessing sustainable consumer behaviour, and closely examining sustainability marketing transformation possibilities and problems.
  • ESG516 ESG and Big Data
    ESG and Big Data are designed to equip the students with a broad understanding of the concepts and techniques of the statistical analysis of ESG. The course aims to equip the students with an analytic mindset in approaching business problems. It provides the students with an understanding of the data analytics model called the IMPACT Cycle (Identify the question, Master the data, Perform test plan, Address and refine results, Communicate insights, and Track outcomes). The course's objectives are to equip the students with a deep appreciation of how data analytics and data management affect the quality of ESG and to develop their abilities to assess and analyse ESG performance.
  • ESG517 Sustainable Supply Chain Management
    Sustainable Supply Chain Management is increasingly at the centre of business decision-making. The course introduces students to the role and importance of sustainable development in supply chain management. Students will have a solid grasp of measuring environmental impacts in supply chains, operational aspects of sustainable supply chains, business models and strategies in sustainable supply chains, and the social dimension of sustainable supply chains. With sustainability as a central core of learning, the course equips the students with the creative problem-solving skills to address the supply chain challenges many businesses face in the ESG content.
