invaluable and comprehensive, from the details of organising activities to the ideology of
community connection. It allows me to leverage the learning in Lingnan into practice, and
gain knowledge from numerous trials and errors.”

“During the summer holiday this year, I joined an internship programme, engaged in the actual working environment, and gained valuable experience to help me explore my future career path. The experience deepened my understanding of policy advocacy work and being a member of a research team in a non-government organization. In OXFAM in Hong Kong, I have engaged in several research projects, such as the poverty line research, the wearable heat stroke detection system, and some evaluative meetings with different partners and the poverty report. After all those meetings and my engagement in different projects, I have gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of the policy advocacy work. I also recognized that social-welfare-related projects should value not only the result but, more importantly, the sustainability and the social impact. This internship experience has provided me with countless insights and has been a valuable opportunity for me to engage in social policy advocacy works and learn from a research team in a non-government organization.”
