Introduction

The 21st century presents humanity with an unprecedented array of complex, interconnected global challenges, ranging from climate change and health crises to social inequalities and poverty, demographic problems, and technological disruptions. No single discipline holds the complete answer; effective solutions demand a synthesis of diverse perspectives, methodologies, and knowledge systems.

This conference, "Pursuing Interdisciplinary and Innovative Solutions to Global Challenges", serves as a vital platform for postgraduate researchers to transcend traditional academic boundaries and collectively address these urgent issues.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

1. Complete the Abstract Submission Form with an abstract of approximately 250 words. Please submit it by 23:59 HKT (GMT+8) on 28 February 2026 to the Abstract Registration Link.

2. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email by 13 March 2026 (HKT).

Proposals are welcomed from all disciplines, with particular interest in:

*Papers from other fields will also be considered.

Students can submit proposals that are discipline-specific or interdisciplinary. The intended presentation can be completed research or a research proposal. It can focus on any or a combination of these thematic areas:

• Theoretical discourse
• Methodological reflections
• Empirical research 
• Literature review and research agenda
• Comparative research 

Presentation formats

• Oral presentation (Hybrid) or poster presentation

*Note: An in-person presentation is highly recommended and limited online presentations will be considered.

Best Paper Award for Lingnan University Doctoral and Research Students

Two outstanding papers by Lingnan doctoral and research students (MPhil, PhD, and professional doctorates e.g., DPS) will be selected for the Best Paper Award. Each awardee will receive a certificate and reimbursement of up to HK$22,000 for expenses incurred in attending the UK session of the Lingnan University Postgraduate Summer School 2026 at the University of Oxford.

When registering, tick the award opt-in box and upload your full paper (maximum 3,000 words including abstract, background, methodology, key findings and discussion) by 28 February 2026 23:59 HKT (GMT+8).
