'My journey in the Master of Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (SEIM) at Lingnan University has been transformative. SEIM, as an interdisciplinary graduate program bridging social sciences and business, has been a delightful surprise from the very start. During the interview, the warm demeanor of the two professors eased my nerves. After classes began in September, most sessions were held in the M+ Art Center office building adjacent to the Forbidden City. During breaks, gazing at the shimmering Victoria Harbour with a gentle breeze caressing my face, I truly felt the joy of thinking, "This tuition is worth every penny."
The subsequent three-day icebreaker camp at the Jockey Club Campground was packed with excitement. Activities like rock climbing and barbecues were interspersed with workshops and mini-lessons on design methodologies. Guided by professors, classmates from diverse backgrounds spoke freely, not only quickly building closer relationship but also gaining clear insights into the program's direction. The most striking aspect of the project-based teaching was its emphasis on practice over paperwork. We visited nonprofit organizations for real-world observation, explored commercial tech exhibitions to broaden our horizons, listened to successful entrepreneurs share practical experience, and learned tools like modeling and apps to refine business concepts. In the latter half of the semester, groups conducted in-depth field research on their chosen topics, applying the methodologies learned to complete their final projects. This immersive learning experience made every effort feel truly worthwhile.
