Terms of Reference

  1. To maintain the academic standards of the programme at a level appropriate to the type of award;
  2. To approve examination question papers after considering the views and recommendations of External Academic Advisers, where appropriate;
  3. To maintain general supervision of the system of continuous assessment, where it applies;
  4. To maintain the proper conduct of examinations;
  5. To determine students’ examination results;
  6. To assess the progress of students and to report its decisions, including its recommendations for Honours Degree classification, to the Undergraduate Examinations Boards;
  7. To consider appeals referred to it by the Registrar.

Membership

Chairperson:

Director of Business Programmes or his/her delegated representative

Members:

Dean of the Faculty of Business*
All staff concerned with the setting and marking of any part of the examinations in the host Departments
One representative from each of the other two faculties (i.e. one representative from the Faculty of Arts and one from the Faculty of Social Sciences)

Secretary:

A staff member from Undergraduate Programmes Office, Faculty of Business


* Membership of the Dean on the Board of Examiners is not stipulated in the Academic Regulations. [Note: BBA RIM programme does not have a separate BoE. All examination related matters of BBA-RIM programmes are handled by the BBA BoE.].
