Aims
The aims and Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs) would follow the strategic positioning of the Programme and is expected to meet the manpower demand and career development in the pertinent business disciplines. The Programme will meet the aims and learning outcomes listed below:
To provide high quality, value-added education at the intersection of business, data science, innovative design, and AI with emphasis on the liberal arts approach in the digital era.
To ensure students realise their potential and become competent, broad-based, well-rounded and socially responsible professionals and/or specialists with skills in human-centred design, creative problem-solving, and data-driven solutions, ready for service in Hong Kong, China, the Chinese Mainland and beyond.
To prepare students for careers in business, data science, AI, and innovative design by equipping them with professional readiness, entrepreneurship, and AI-driven innovation.
To instill in students’ sensitivity to and respect for the ethical, legal, and sustainable dimensions of decisions in business, design, and AI.
To communicate effectively and collaborate in interdisciplinary settings.
Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)
Upon completion of the programme, students will achieve Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs):
Students have good communication skills and can present ideas clearly and work effectively in diverse teams.
Students are literate in IT knowledge and skills and can explain specialised concepts in AI, data science, and design.
Students are able to use AI technology to solve business problems.
Students are able to adopt a holistic approach in strategic analysis and problem solving, and develop effective and efficient programmes using comprehensive computer skills.
Students are able to think critically, reflect, engage in self‑direct learning, and adapt to technological changes, supporting continuing professional development.
Students are competent in compiling and analysing quantitative information and business analytics to support decision making, build, train, evaluate, and integrate machine learning and deep learning models for practical contexts.
Students are able to think creatively, apply design thinking, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience (UX), and studio methods to create innovative solutions and develop interactive prototypes in support of established practices.
Students are able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and use inter-disciplinary knowledge for creating innovative solutions.
Students are able to analyse problems from an international and cross-cultural perspective, demonstrating intercultural awareness and global citizenship.
Students are able to demonstrate effective consideration of social responsibilities and ethical issues in business situations, assess risks and apply legal, ethical, and responsible AI practices.
