The Wong Bing Lai Music and Performing Arts Unit (WBLMP), under Wu Jieh Yee School of Interdisciplinary Studies, organised Hong Kong’s first international symposium on “Arts for Wellbeing: Creativity, Adaptability, Sustainability” at the Lingnan@WestKowloon in the M+ building on 6 February 2026. Adopting an interdisciplinary perspective, the event examined how the arts can promote emotional regulation and foster social cohesion. Discussions focused on how creative practices can work alongside medical and psychological support to address the stress and alienation often associated with urban life. 

 

Supported by Tin Ka Ping Foundation, the symposium was officiated by The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan, Chairman of the Board of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. The symposium attracted around 120 scholars, artists, educators, and cultural practitioners from Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and overseas.
