The Chamber of Young Snow Art Exhibition Hall - Bridging Time for Cultural Continuity
Generously supported by Dr Stephen Suen, founder of the Chamber of Young Snow (CYS), Lingnan University has inaugurated the Chamber of Young Snow Art Exhibition Hall (“the Hall”) on its Tuen Mun campus since 2023. Dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese art, the Hall has significantly enriched the campus’s cultural atmosphere and provides invaluable experiential learning opportunities for students by showcasing a remarkable collection of Chinese artwork from the CYS, helping to nurture a new wave of cultural and creative leaders. Boosted by Research Matching Grants – Lingnan Deepening Research in Ecology and Peace
Leveraging the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Research Matching Grant Scheme, Lingnan University has been actively expanding its research initiatives across diverse fields in recent years, and has amplified the impact of public donations, providing research teams with robust and sustainable resources to realise meaningful research outcomes and contribute back to society.
Led by Prof Lau Kin-chi from the Department of Cultural Studies, several research projects at Lingnan focus on deepening studies in ecology, peace promotion, and Global South cooperation. Among them, the “PeaceWomen Across the Globe” project is a major beneficiary of the research matching grant. Through education, advocacy, transnational dialogue and collaboration, the project promotes the establishment of a culture of peace.
AR Charitable Foundation Scholarship Scheme - Nurturing Future Insurance Talents
Since 2013, the AR Charitable Foundation Scholarship Scheme at Lingnan University has been an important cradle for cultivating insurance professionals, continuously injecting fresh vitality into the industry. The Scheme, specifically designed for undergraduate students majoring in Risk and Insurance Management at Lingnan, not only provides sponsorships for tuition fees and the registration fees for the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) professional qualifications, but also offers valuable internship and mentorship opportunities. Additionally, it supports exceptional graduates in pursuing master's degrees at the Bayes Business School of City St George's, University of London, further strengthening their academic and professional capabilities.

Care for Carers – Fostering Intergenerational Inclusion
With the support of a generous anonymous donor and the Research Matching Grant from the HKSAR, Lingnan University’s Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) established the “Thanksgiving Research Fund for Ageing” in 2020 to implement the “Care for Carers: Intergenerational Services and Research Project” to raise public awareness of carers’ needs and promote policy development. Student Ambassador Tiki Lui shared that she has developed greater empathy and deeper appreciation for intergenerational inclusion through her participation in home visits. Elderly caregiver, Ms Law Yin-lan, found essential practical and emotional support in the Caregiver's Practical Information Handbook published by the Project.
Promoting Secrets to Happiness
The Wellness Ambassador Programme (WAP), launched by the Wofoo Joseph Lee Consulting and Counselling Psychology Research Centre and generously supported by Wofoo Social Enterprises, is a meaningful initiative dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and well-being among young people. Since its inception in 2020, WAP has expanded its reach to numerous educational institutions, successfully fostering resilience and helping participants reduce negative emotions through hands-on training. Justin Cheung, a 2025 Psychology graduate, shared that the programme profoundly transformed his understanding of happiness and the importance of active listening. Through WAP, he enhanced his self-awareness and developed effective stress management techniques.
Building Hope with Humanitarian Innovation
The Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Academy (Academy) at Lingnan University, organised by the Office of Service-Learning, is generously supported by the Lingnan Foundation to provide students with the opportunity to embark on a journey into the real world to explore social issues and develop impactful solutions for the community. Since its launch in 2020, the Academy has enabled students to co-create innovative solutions that promote humanitarian values, such as the award-winning Incuvia portable baby incubator. Gunjee Battogtokh, a Data Science student, shared how working with rural health teams in the Philippines deepened her empathy and understanding of design thinking.
LYSSA — Empowering Future Innovators
The Lingnan-Yuanpei STEM Summer Academy (LYSSA) has established itself as an impactful platform for innovation and collaboration among young minds since its launch in 2024. Jointly organised by Lingnan University and the Yuanpei College of Peking University (PKU), and generously supported by the Lingnan Foundation, this immersive programme aims to empower students by exploring STEM knowledge. It encourages innovative ideas to address real-world challenges while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in the humanities, demonstrating the transformative power of educational philanthropy.
Lingnan Alumni: Cycle of Giving
Philip Wong, a dedicated 2023 BBA graduate from Lingnan University, embodies the spirit of philanthropy. Now thriving as a Global Graduate Trainee at HSBC, Philip's journey of giving back began with inspiration from a senior during his time at Lingnan. After graduation, Philip established the Philip Wong Scholarship, motivated by the belief that gratitude can multiply when shared. As of the academic year 2024/2025, he has empowered six deserving recipients of this scholarship, helping them pursue their academic goals.
Link Sound Sinfonia: Connecting People with Music
Link Sound Sinfonia (LSS) at Lingnan University is an innovative social impact project that connects individuals from diverse backgrounds through music. Since 2021, LSS has promoted community inclusion and empowerment, enhancing the social benefits of physical and mental health through music engagement. Johnny, a Lingnan University graduate, has experienced the transformative power of music through this project, which has significantly enhanced his communication skills and contributed to his personal growth. Another LSS participant, Hugo, has discovered a passion for music that empowers self-expression and boosts his confidence.
