Outstanding Student Awards Presentation Ceremony 2023-24

Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) Outstanding Student Awards Presentation Ceremony was held successfully on 8 August 2024 at Lam Woo Lecture Theatre, Lingnan University, to commend the students of Associate Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma and Diploma of Applied Education with various achievements. Many teachers and parents were present to congratulate the awardees.

Mr. Justin LAM, Head of Teaching Faculty, welcomed all guests and praised the awardees. Drawing inspiration from the indomitable spirit of the Olympic Hong Kong athletes, he encouraged students to face academic challenges courageously, and to cherish their strong support systems by seeking help from teachers, classmates, and family when facing obstacles. He urged the awardees to continue pursuing their dreams and shine brightly on their future paths.

Full Attendance Award, Excellent School Service Appreciation Award, Excellent Sports and Talent Award, Academic Excellence Award and Outstanding Student Award were given to Diploma of Applied Education students with brilliant performance in various respects. Honour Roll, Director’s List and Director’s Scholarship were also awarded to Associate Degree, Higher Diploma and Diploma students with outstanding academic performance.

In addition, scholarships from the Hong Kong SAR Government under the Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme were awarded to Associate Degree and Higher Diploma students with outstanding academic performance, and also with achievements and talents in other non-academic fields. The awards were namely Outstanding Performance Scholarship, Best Progress Award and Talent Development Scholarship.

After the awards presentation, Mr. LAW, Chung Yin, student in Associate of Social Sciences (Psychology), delivered a vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to his family for their support and consideration, and to the teachers for their dedication and passion, which ignited his love for learning. He shared his journey as a perfectionist, learning to face mistakes and setbacks, and growing from those experiences - valuable growth he achieved in LIFE. Chung Yin encouraged his peers to embrace challenges, celebrate setbacks, and bravely strive to become their best selves.
