Associate of Social Sciences (Psychology)
- Providing students with a solid and comprehensive foundation in psychology
- Analysing human thinking process and behavioural pattern
- Explaining the importance of mental health to human well-being
- Provides relevant knowledge about psychology with a scientific analysis of mental processes and human behaviour
- Equips students with ability to apply knowledge of psychology to daily life and interpersonal relationship
- Prepares students for more advanced study in any area of psychology
Upon completion, students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of major concepts, theoretical perspectives, and research findings from different sub-fields in psychology;
- apply psychological principles to the analysis of personal, organisational, and social issues;
- identify the professional ethical issues in psychology;
- demonstrate proficiency in the use of English and Chinese languages and communicate effectively for further studies or work;
- apply creative problem-solving, IT applications, and critical thinking skills for handling further studies or career pursuits;and
- demonstrate an understanding of cross-disciplinary knowledge and possible cross-disciplinary application.

Dr. Cheung Yim from Department of Counselling and Psychology, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, was invited to hold a talk named “Psychology and counselling: AI resistant and AI irreplaceable job” and share articulation information with students of Associate of Social Sciences (Psychology) at LIFE. The students not only learnt more about psychology and counselling, but also articulation pathways.
