Higher Diploma in Sports Coaching and Leadership
- Equipping students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge in sports coaching and leadership
- Providing holistic training with hands-on skills in both individual and team sports coaching, team sports coaching and resistance training
- Offering a minimum of 200-hour practicum
- Training with the well-equipped sports facilities at Lingnan University campus, e.g. gym, athletic field, football field, basketball courts, swimming pool, etc.
- Provides professional training in sports coaching and leadership
- Trains students to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in sports and recreation related work
- Develops students to design sports coaching activities and leading the activities in various sports events
- Prepares students to develop their future career in sports and recreation related industries
Upon completion, students will be able to:
- demonstrate the knowledge to design and lead sports coaching activities;
- demonstrate the knowledge and leadership skills to organize and lead sports events;
- explain and apply basic sports science knowledge in coaching;
- demonstrate proficiency in oral and written language competence in both English and Chinese for future studies or work; and
- apply problem-solving, IT and critical thinking skills for handling further studies or career pursuit.

The Football Association of Hong Kong, China
The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) was established in 1914. They are the member of FIFA and AFC. They are responsible for organising various football competitions including professional and amateur leagues, football development and promoting football in Hong Kong.
HKFA agreed to be the programme partner of Higher Diploma in Sports Coaching and Leadership. They cooperate to us to arrange football related training activities and provide internship opportunities for our students. Meanwhile, guest lectures and visits will be arranged during the term.
Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China
Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China is a non-profit making national sports association which has been established since 1986. They are recognized by the Hong Kong S.A.R. Government and the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, and committed to professional development of physical fitness in Hong Kong.

LU athlete wins Gold Medal at USFHK Annual Athletic Meet

WONG Shek On Zion won the Champion for 400m event at the 61st USFHK Annual Athletic Meet with a result of 49.99s on 5 March 2023 at the Joint Sports Centre.
Zion's impressive performance is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport. He has been training tirelessly with his team members and coaches, and his victory is a well-deserved recognition of his efforts.

LU athlete wins Silver Medal at USFHK Annual Athletic Meet

WONG Shek On, student of LIFE’s Higher Diploma in Sports Coaching and Leadership and a member of the LU Track and Field Team, won the first runner-up in the Men’s 400m in 50.72 seconds at the 60th USFHK Annual Athletic Meet. Congratulations!
LIFE Student awarded Lingnan University Outstanding Martial Art Athlete Award 2020-2021

Mr. Lai Chun Hai, year 2 student of Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) Higher Diploma in Sports Coaching and Leadership, and member of the Lingnan University Karate Team, was awarded the Lingnan University Outstanding Martial Art Athlete Award 2020-2021, with his outstanding performance in Karate. He was awarded a scholarship of HK$5,000.
This award aims at encouraging Lingnan University students who actively participated and had outstanding performance in martial art sports.
