Extending Access to Local Institutional Libraries

To further expand our support for staff and students study and research needs, we have strengthened our InterLibrary Loan Service (ILL):

Through ILL, users may obtain materials that are not part of our Library collections. They include books, journal articles, book chapters, etc. owned by other local and overseas libraries. This service is available to all Lingnan staff, postgraduates, and undergraduate students.

This year, the Library has commenced reciprocal ILL services with The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education, and Caritas Institute of Higher Education. We also share Institutional Reader cards with the latter two. Lingnan Library users may access their physical spaces with the cards available at our Service Counter. The Library continues to explore and establish a wider network ILL partnerships with other local and overseas government departments/agencies and authorised/registered organisations.

We are actively enhancing the integrated user interfaces of our ILL system with a single system where users can place requests to all ILL partners, local university libraries, local institutions or overseas partners, the Library aims to provide users with a more effective ILL service experience.
