Each year, the CRDS Master’s Program organizes student exchanges to South China Normal University, Kyung Hee University in South Korea, and the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
A Seed of Growth: My Summer at KHU
My summer exchange at Kyung Hee University was a transformative journey that gently pushed me beyond the familiar confines of my comfort zone. Immersed in a new academic environment, I gained fresh perspectives, formed meaningful connections with peers from around the world, and cultivated a more open and inclusive worldview. Like a seed planted in fertile soil, this experience will continue to take root and grow throughout my academic and personal life—a constant reminder to embrace the unknown with curiosity and approach diversity with heartfelt respect.
Echoes of Oxford: An Academic and Cultural Journey
These two weeks of intensive study not only deepened my understanding of my academic field but also allowed me to interact with peers from around the world, forging strong academic and cultural connections. I gained deeper insights into my discipline and experienced multicultural exchange, which made me realize that our perspectives are often shaped by our cultural backgrounds. In cross-cultural communication and collaboration, appreciating diversity in thinking is essential. This experience made me more open-minded and inclusive, teaching me to respect and understand different cultures and ways of thinking. Academic Insight, Cultural Immersion: A Journey into the Greater Bay Area
For students in the Greater Bay Area concentration, the second semester includes an immersive exchange program at South China Normal University. This specialized course offers systematic learning about the region’s economy, culture, and policies, complemented by field visits to leading enterprises, innovation zones, and cultural sites. Through direct engagement with professionals and on-site observation, students will gain a tangible understanding of the region’s development. This experience turns theories of regional growth into a personal, insightful journey—broadening perspectives and deepening awareness of national strategic directions.
