Programme Introduction

Global population ageing continues to intensify alongside a widespread rise in public health awareness, driving a sharp increase in society's demand for diversified health and social services. Sector development requires not only greater resource investment, but more critically, a cohort of professional leaders capable of holistic planning, innovative service design, and efficient management.

To address this pressing need, the School of Graduate Studies at Lingnan University has launched the Master of Social Sciences in Health and Social Services Management (MHSM). The programme is designed to cultivate professional managerial talent for the social welfare and healthcare sectors. Through a scientific and systematic approach to service management, it aims to strengthen the development of health and social services, and contribute to a more integrated ecosystem for population health and social care.

Built upon a core framework of modern management science, the programme deeply integrating the cutting-edge technological applications and humanistic insight essential for service innovation. It is dedicated to developing students' strategic thinking, resource integration capabilities, and cross-sectoral leadership, preparing graduates for roles in service design, operational management, and policy advocacy across multiple domains. These include social services for older adults, child and youth wellbeing, and community health promotion.
