Biographical Note

George Chan received his BA (Translation) and MA (Computer-Aided Translation) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a holder of the Diploma in Translation (DipTrans) of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) in the UK, a member of the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) in Australia and a holder of the Certificate of the National Accreditation Examinations for Translators and Interpreters (NAETI) in the PRC. After graduation, he took part and became a winner in a national translation contest in the PRC. He then embarked on his career as a translator for a US-based credit rating agency, a UK-based investment bank, a Singapore-based private bank and a China-based global Internet giant. His passion for translation has driven him to lecture on translation subjects since 2013, sharing experiences with students before they are recruited into this profession.
