My four years at Lingnan University have been nothing short of extraordinary, igniting a passion for learning and service that will guide me for years to come. Throughout my university journey, I have experienced profound personal growth and forged lasting friendships while engaging in a vibrant community that embodies the principle of "Education for Service."
Beyond my academic pursuits, I have actively participated in volunteer initiatives that reflect our university's guiding motto. Through service-learning projects and self-initiated events with various organizations, I have had the privilege of applying my knowledge to benefit the community. This hands-on engagement has not only enriched my understanding of our society but also reinforced the importance of giving back.
A highlight of my experience was serving as a 2021 Chan Fellow. This programme provided me with invaluable opportunities for practical experience in service work and intercultural cooperation. Participating in US capstone trip and collaborative events with peers from Sun Yat-sen University and University of California, Berkeley, allowed me to broaden my horizons and develop essential skills for a globalized world.
Additionally, I embraced various extracurricular activities, including case competitions, internship programs, and involvement in Toastmasters and Enactus events. These experiences equipped me with the soft skills and practical knowledge necessary to thrive in a competitive job market. Serving as the emcee for multiple university events was particularly transformative; it boosted my confidence in public speaking and honed my ability to adapt to unexpected situations. I am deeply grateful to Lingnan University for providing me with these remarkable opportunities.
With the support and guidance from LU, I am honored to have received 14 scholarships during my time here, a testament to the hard work and dedication I invested in my studies and community involvement. I firmly believe that everyone can make a difference, regardless of their background. Success is attainable through perseverance, passion, and curiosity. Lingnan University fosters an environment where we can thrive and carve out successful paths in our chosen fields.
