Despite its abundance of learning resources, renowned faculty, and diligent students, Lingnan may still be underestimated by many. However, it is truly a hidden humanistic pearl shining for its generosity and genuine care for every student. I believe everyone here can discover a better version of themselves!
The best part of my journey at Lingnan has been the opportunity to explore my interests and embark on adventures that push me beyond my comfort zone, thanks to the abundant resources available. I believe Lingnan is one of the most generous universities in Hong Kong, as all valuable resources are readily accessible to all students. For instance, I received generous financial support to study at Yonsei University in Seoul for a whole semester, where I connected with some of the most hardworking students in Korea. I also had the opportunity to represent Lingnan during a visit to Williams College in the USA, where I engaged with their teachers and students to learn more about their liberal arts education model.
Additionally, I was supported in undertaking a half-year social service internship at UC Berkeley, where I learned the value of making even small, positive changes in society. During my stay, I worked on a project about Chinese migrants, visiting and conducting interviews to record their stories and help them express their needs and emotions. I also had the chance to connect with some alumni from Lingnan's old Guangzhou campus!
I am also deeply grateful for the unwavering support from my professors and friends at Lingnan. This is a place where you'll never have to worry about fitting in, as everyone here ensures you feel cared for and valued. When I applied for postgraduate studies, my professors agreed to be my referees without hesitation, and gratefully I received offers from Seoul National University, Nanyang Technological University, and HKUST.
