All students without the right of abode/right to land in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) MUST apply for a student visa for the purpose of education in the HKSAR. For all non-local students who need a student visa to pursue an undergraduate degree at Lingnan University, we will guide you step-by-step throughout the visa application process. We will assist eligible non-local students to apply for a student visa. Students will be informed individually of the details of visa application only after they are offered admission to one of our undergraduate programmes and have accepted our admission offer. Again, please check your emails regularly as we will contact you frequently throughout the visa application process.
It normally takes the Immigration Department of HKSAR around 6 to 8 weeks for a student visa application. The actual processing time will depend on multiple factors, and we will keep you updated on the outcome of the application as soon as it is available. Approval of your application is at the discretion of the Immigration Department.
According to the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government, non-local graduates of full-time programmes at undergraduate degree level or above may apply to stay and work in Hong Kong under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG).
