Overview

The Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) - Social Data Science programme prepares students to acquire, utilise, and interpret social data creatively and effectively in addressing  challenges related to people and the society. We offer an interdisciplinary curriculum by combining knowledge in fundamental social sciences theories with advanced data science techniques. Students will not only benefit from both the uniqueness and synergy of our four disciplines (Economics, Government and International Affairs, Psychology, and Sociology and Social Policy), but also acquire essential and practical skills in data science. Students graduating with this major will be able to serve in both the public and private sectors, especially in roles such as analysts, researchers, and data scientists in various industries, government agencies, and non-government organisations (NGOs).
