A Qualitative Study of Grandchildren Caring for Grandparents with Disabilities and Chronic Diseases

This study is a one-year project funded by The Research Grants Council (RGC). As the number of older people with disabilities and chronic diseases increases, more grandchildren are stepping up to care for their grandparents. However, limited research on this topic has resulted in a lack of specific services for these caregivers in Hong Kong. Our study aims to fill this gap by investigating the challenges, and service needs of these grandchildren caregivers.
