Overview

Misson

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chinese aims to cultivate the ability to think clearly and rationally and broaden the horizons, especially in the field of Chinese Literature. Not only does the programme focus on Literature research from multiple perspectives, but also on media and official writings.

Targets

Student should achieve the followings targets after graduation:

be able to use standard Chinese effectively in its verbal and written forms;
acquire a sound knowledge of Chinese language;
acquire a sound knowledge of classical and modern Chinese literature;
demonstrate a capacity to study Chinese literary works from an interdisciplinary approach;
demonstrate a high level of competency in professional writing, e.g. script writing in mass media and business document drafting;
demonstrate good logical reasoning, broad perspectives.

To have excellent Chinese writing and communication skills, and the ability of analyzing Chinese Literature.

To appreciate aesthetics, accept new insights, think critically, as the advocation from liberal arts education.
