Applicants Transferring Their Research Studies to Lingnan

If an MPhil/a PhD student who is currently registered in a research programme in a recognised university wishes to transfer to Lingnan University to continue his/her research study, the student can submit an admission application to a related MPhil/PhD programme of Lingnan University as a new student following the standard admission procedures and timelines.

To have his/her previous research work undertaken at the other university recognised by Lingnan University, the student needs to make an application explaining what work has been done and its relevance to the programme at Lingnan. The maximum credit to be given to such work, in the event such application has been approved, shall not exceed 50% of the normal study period.

If the student is selected for admission with his/her previous research work recognised by Lingnan University, he/she will be given a shorter normal study period based on the recommendation of the host department/unit.
