Admission

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

1. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree from a recognised tertiary institution*; and

2. English Proficiency (AY2027/28)

    

   In addition to the above, an applicant whose degree or, exceptionally, an alternative qualification deemed equivalent from a tertiary institution is not using English as the medium of instruction (MOI) for the programme, should obtain 

   - a minimum score of or 79 (internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)¹, or 

   - a band score of 6.0 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)¹, or 

   - a minimum score of 450 or above in the College English Test Band 6 (CET-6), with proof of competency in spoken English²; or an equivalent qualification to prove his/her English language proficiency which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

   
   ¹For IELTS and TOEFL qualifications for admission purpose, the University only accepts results of tests that are conducted at a test centre and within the validity period, viz. 2 years, from the time of submission of an admission application for the specific intake cohort.

   ² For CET-6 results submitted for admission purposes, the University accepts only those obtained within the five-year validity period, counted from the date of submission of the admission application for the specific intake cohort. Applicants must also demonstrate competency in spoken English through an oral interview conducted by the Programme and/or obtain grade B or above in the CET-6 Speaking English Test.

    

* Equivalent qualifications and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis;

Interviews may be conducted if deemed necessary by the Admissions Co-ordinator and the Program Director.

4. Upload scanned copies of admission documents to the system:
5. Settle the application fee (HK$400) by a credit card. The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
6. Applicants who wish to be considered for scholarship should send two recommendation letters in sealed envelopes, sent directly by referees and addressed to the Admissions Office (HAM, School of Graduate Studies). The recommendation letters are not required for admission-only applicants).

SCHOLARSHIP

A variety of scholarships may be available in any given year. Applicants who receive admission offers will be automatically considered eligible to compete for the scholarships.

Successful applicants will receive a scholarship of up to the value of HK$200,000, which includes partial or full tuition waivers, and a merit-based stipend. Furthermore, scholarship recipients will be given priority by individual programmes to stay at our on-campus hostels.
