Academic Advising Arrangement for New BSocSc Students (Year 1 & 2 Entry)
New BSocSc students (Year 1 & Year 2 admittees) are required to consult the Office of the Faculty of Social Sciences via email and complete online student advising on or before 17 August 2026 (Mon). If you fail to work out your study plan and/or the plan is not approved, you will not be allowed to register for courses during Course Registration Day and Add/drop Periods.
Three Essential Steps to Complete Academic Advising:

Step 2 | Create your Study Plan for Term 1 and Term 2, 2026-27 on the DegreeWorks System. Make sure that your study plan on DegreeWorks is saved. (Note: Lingnan SSL VPN may be required to remotely access the DegreeWorks System outside campus. For the VPN installation guidelines, please refer to https://www.ln.edu.hk/itsc/services/network/vpn-connection.) |
Step 3 | Email the Office of the Faculty of Social Sciences ([email protected]) for advice/approval on or before 17 August 2026 (Mon). After you have contacted the Faculty Office, you do not need to contact your academic adviser individually unless otherwise instructed. The Faculty Office staff will review your study plan input in the DegreeWorks System. |
Once your plan is approved during the Academic Advising, the registration hold will be removed. You should register for courses for Term 1 and Term 2, 2026-27 during Course Registration Day on 18 August (New Year 2 students) or 19 August (New Year 1 students).
Late-admitted students who receive an offer after 13 August 2026 and students who miss the Online Registration on 18/19 August 2026 are required to complete academic advising procedures successfully and save your study plan before registering for your courses during the Term 1 Add/Drop Period (i.e. 28 August – 7 September 2026).
