The Lingnan-60 global talent drive aims to recruit over 60 outstanding scholars from around the globe to join the University as tenured or tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, or Chair Professor in all academic fields.  Interdisciplinary areas will be focused on that would spearhead a digitalized future for the University’s teaching and research capabilities.  Key areas include, but not limited to, Art and Technology, Metaverse and Humanities, Digital Humanities, Financial Technology, Financial Sustainability, Social Media Marketing, Human-AI Interactions, ESG and Disclosure in the Digital Era, Business Analytics and Technology, Mental Health and Wellbeing, etc.

The Position

The Vice-President (Administration) together with the Vice-President (Academics) cum Provost and the Vice-President (Research & Innovation) will assist the President in leading the University and be accountable to the Council via the President. The Vice-President (Administration) will provide strategic oversight and planning of the administrative resources and operations of the University and directly oversee the operation of three administrative units, viz. the Finance Office, the Office of Campus Development and Management, and the Human Resources Office and possibly other functions.


 

The Candidate


The candidate should understand, believe in, and be committed to the vision of liberal arts education at Lingnan University. The candidate is expected to be a dynamic leader with extensive and solid experience at senior management level in higher education institutions, government labs, non-profit or large corporations.  He/She should have vision and foresight in global context, and be able to lead and maintain a strategic overview of the administrative resources and functions of the University to ensure service delivery in support of the academic and research activities of the University and successful implementation of the University’s Strategic Plan.

The term for the first contract will normally be five years and will be renewable subject to mutual agreement. Competitive remuneration and fringe benefits will be provided.
