Smart Recycling @ Lingnan
We are excited to let you know that three Environmental Protection Department (EPD) ’s Smart Recycling Bins for collection of Metals, Plastic Bottles and Glass Bottles have been set up at G/F, Lau Lee Yuen Haan Amenities Building. These Smart Recycling Bins are equipped with sensors and can transfer information and data through IoT network for effective monitoring. With supporting 24-hour operation that measure and record the weight of recyclables automatically, GREEN$ points could be earned for redemption of gift items at GREEN@COMMUNITY by using their GREEN$ Mobile App.

Foodwaste Recycling @ Lingnan
The University measures the amount of food waste generated from food served within the University.
To cope with the “Waste Blueprint for Hong Kong 2035” issued by Environmental Protection Department in February 2021, Lingnan is dedicated to implementing waste separation and recovery measures on campus to minimize the waste disposing to landfill. Lingnan has implemented a recycle map and increased the number of recycling facilities to facilitate campus users. Collection points have been set up for dispose of hazardous waste, including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), fluorescent lamps/tubes, and rechargeable batteries.
