Standup Paddle Board (立划板) Elementary Certificate Course (with activity leading skills)

Date: 17-18 May 2023 (Wed-Thu)

Time: 9:30-15:30

Organiser: The Hongkong Federation of Youth Groups (香港青年協會)

Medium of Instruction: Cantonese and English

ILP unit: 6 units (Physical Fitness and Well-being)

Course Fee: Free (HKD0) (Excluding Logbook)

Deposit: HKD600

Enrollment: Register at the G01/1, Office of Student Affairs during office hours before 10 May (Wed) 12:00pm

The Standup Paddle Board Elementary Course is to introduce the standup paddle skills with basic knowledge on the safety for water activity. Participant may join the Standup Paddle Board Proficiency Certificate Courses to develop advanced qualification after completing this course. Other than the paddling skills, the course will be delivering some soft skills such as the leadership skill to organize an activity for children and youth. After completing the course, students will be invited to offer volunteering service at HKFYG for at least 40 hours as a group leader to practice their skills as well as gaining hands-on experience in leading activity, in order to become one of the part-time camp leaders in HKFYG.

Kayak (獨木舟) 3-Star Award Certificate Course (with activity leading skills)

Date: 5-7 June 2023 (Mon-Wed)

The kayak 3-Star Award Course is to introduce the kayaking skills with basic knowledge on the safety for water activity. Participant may join a Kayak Proficiency Certificate Course to develop advanced qualification after completing the 3-Star Award Course. Other than the kayaking skills, the course will be delivering some soft skills such as the leadership skill to organize an activity for children and youth. After completing the course, students will be invited to offer volunteering service at HKFYG for at least 40 hours as a group leader to practice their skills as well as gaining hands-on experience in leading activity, in order to become one of the part-time camp leaders in HKFYG.

 

  • Deposit is only refundable (i) after the completion of full course/activity or the attendance requirement is fulfilled OR (ii) when the course/activity is cancelled due to low enrollment.
