Division of Industrial Data Science (DIDS)
The DIDS is focused on the application of data science within various industrial sectors. This division is geared towards creating partnerships with businesses, understanding industry challenges, and tailoring curriculum to prepare students for real-world data analytics tasks.
Three Taught Postgraduate programmes are currently offered and managed by the division:
Master of Science in Industrial Data Analytics (MScIDA)
The Master of Science in Industrial Data Analytics (MScIDA) is a specialized programme designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to harness the power of data in the industrial sector.
Master of Science in Innovative Design and Artificial Intelligence (MScIDAI)
The Master of Science in Innovative Design and Artificial Intelligence (MScIDAI) programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage the complete AI product lifecycle—from concept design and software/hardware development to system integration and venture launch.
Master of Science in Smart City Technologies and Applications (MScSCTA)
The Master of Science in Smart City Technologies and Applications (MScSCTA) is a cutting-edge program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the concept of smart cities.
Two self-financed undergraduate programmes are planned for launch in September 2027, with a normal study period of four academic years:
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Innovative Design and Artificial Intelligence (BScIDAI)
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Innovative Design and Artificial Intelligence (BScIDAI) self-financed programme is designed to bridge the gap between creative innovation and technical execution. The programme fuses holistic design thinking with advanced AI engineering. Graduates emerge fully prepared to independently develop and deploy market-ready intelligent products across evolving industries.
Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) – Finance (BBA-FIN) and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Innovative Design and Artificial Intelligence (BScIDAI)
A self-financed double degree programme: Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) – Finance (BBA-FIN) and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Innovative Design and Artificial Intelligence (BScIDAI) is jointly administered by the Department of Finance and the DIDS. Students will develop a strong understanding of financial principles while acquiring technological and creative capabilities that are increasingly sought after in the digital economy.
