2026 International Workshop on Technologies for AI Governance (TAIG)
Following on from the first two International Workshops on Technologies for AI Governance in 2024 and 2025, the Third International Workshop - TAIG 2026 will be held on 27-28 November 2026 (Friday and Saturday) in Hong Kong.
The first two workshops were held in association with Lingnan University in Hong Kong and University of Bologna in Italy, respectively, and included AI experts, distinguished scholars and industrial leaders from notable institutions including UC Berkeley, University College London, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Alan Turing Institute, Tsinghua University, University of Bologna, IBM Research Tokyo, EY (Ernst & Young), Microsoft Research Asia, etc.
Building on the experience gained from the first two workshops, the third workshop will be co-organised and co-sponsored by Lingnan University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Clearwater Bay, Hong Kong; Guangzhou, Guangdong), the University of Tokyo (Tokyo, Japan), and the University of Alberta (Alberta, Canada).

Lingnan University Research Team Wins Gold Award for Contributing to Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction in Smart Buildings
On August 8, at the award ceremony for the “Global AI Challenge for Building E&M Facilities 2025” held at the Hong Kong Science Park, the research team project titled “Dynamic Engineering Multi-modal Feature Learning Method for Office Building Cooling Load Prediction,” guided by Professor S. Joe QIN, President of Lingnan University and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science, stood out and won the Gold Award in the “Artificial Intelligence Model Development” category along with a prize of 5,000 USD.

Lingnan University and the University of Bologna are proud to co-host the 2nd International Workshop on Technologies for AI Governance (TAIG). This 1.5-day intensive workshop aims to bridge the gap between technological innovation and effective governance mechanisms. Our primary goal is to foster deep interdisciplinary dialogue among leading researchers, engineers, and ethicists to explore how technology can actively enable and strengthen AI governance.

2024 International Workshop on Risk and Governance of Generative Artificial Intelligence
This workshop will be held on 25th and 26th November, 2024. It aims to facilitate academic exchange and collaboration among leading AI researchers and practitioners worldwide. The workshop will revolve around four key themes: AI safety in the era of large language models; AI governance from diverse perspectives; Trustworthiness of generative AI and Feasible paths to AI alignment.
