Message from the Programme Director Prof. AMOAH Padmore Adusei

Welcome! It is my great pleasure to introduce you to our transformative Master of Science in Health Analytics and Management (HAM) programme, which helps talented individuals to develop career-driven practical and research skills in health data analytics and management through the acquisition of professional and technical knowledge.

Embrace the Future of Healthcare with Our Master of Science in Health Analytics and Management (HAM) Program

The HAM programme aims to provide current and aspiring health service managers and coordinators with data-driven management knowledge and skills that would enable them to make informed healthcare decisions and to enhance efficiency in the management of health service operations. This interdisciplinary programme, a collaboration between the Faculty of Business and the School of Graduate Studies, provides courses emanating from data science, social sciences, health policy, ICT, business, and health science fields. We are partnered with various healthcare centres, nursing homes, nongovernmental organisations, and business enterprises to offer students an extensive range of choices for traineeship and placement.

I highly encourage you to consider joining our vibrant HAM community and take a step farther in preparing yourself for tomorrow’s challenges.

HAM programme during the current global crisis

Professor Padmore A. Amoah, Programme Director of HAM’s Programme Planning Committee, acknowledges the particular relevance of the programme during the current global crisis. "It is evident that people with these sort of skills – people who are able to analyse, and find patterns in data - are in much greater demand now, as health systems need to be able to track and understand the dynamics of the disease to make informed decisions."

But he believes the stresses placed on health services by the COVID-19 pandemic simply underline the need for these skills on an ongoing basis. "We are hoping that people with this degree will be able to address not only clinical but also administrative, and other public health-related challenges, from a more data-driven perspective."
