BBA Summer Internship Programme 2026 - Positions for Application

BBA Summer Internship Programme 2026 is only eligible to those who have submitted the Online Survey and completed the Internship Registration Form by 10 April 2026 (Friday). Please note that late submissions will not be accepted.

2. If the salary of your summer job lined up by the Undergraduate Programmes Office, Faculty of Business, falls below the hourly pay* set by the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO), please pay attention to the following:

a) You will be classified as a “Work Experience Student” under the MWO.

b) Exemption criteria for Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW):

- under the age of 26 years at the beginning of employment;

- the student employee and his/her employer may agree to treat a continuous period of up to 59 days as exempt student employment; and

- at most one period of exempt student employment may commence in the same calendar year (regardless of whether the employment is with the same employer or not), and

- the student has to make (i) a statutory declaration verifying this fact and provide the declaration (or copy) to the employer; and (ii) a confirmation of student status for “Work Experience Student” under the MWO, issued by the University before the commencement of the employment contract.

Remarks 

* The Chief Executive (CE) in Council has adopted the recommendation of the Minimum Wage Commission (MWC) to raise the SMW rate to $43.1 per hour. Subject to the approval of the Legislative Council, the revised SMW rate will come into force on 1 May 2026.

* Students should visit Labour Department’s Website (http://www.labour.gov.hk/eng/news/mwo.htm) to know more about the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO), and check for the latest information regularly.

(i) Statutory Declaration

• A work experience student may make a statutory declaration through the existing available channels (via Home Affairs Department 民政事務總署).

• Any person who makes a false statutory declaration commits a criminal offence (刑事罪行) and is liable to prosecution.

   

(ii)  Confirmation of Student Status for “Work Experience Student” under the MWO

• This document is issued by the University to show that the work experience student is at the commencement of the employment enrolled in a programme offered by Lingnan University.
• The copies of the above two documents should be kept by the employer, the student and the University.
