Application for Student Activities Fund (SAF) and ILP Units

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • For Student Activities Fund: All Full-time UGC-funded Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students; Either as Individuals or in Groups
  • For Student Society Activities with ILP Units: Registered Student Societies

 

Application Procedures

  • Applications are open throughout the year and shall be submitted to OSA 4 weeks in advance of the activity. Ad hoc applications may only be entertained upon request. Please be reminded that retrospective applications will not be considered.
  • Applications shall be submitted to Office of Student Affairs (OSA) on a prescribed application form which could be downloaded on the OSA website together with the activity proposal and budget plan (for applying SAF only).
  • The applicant will usually be informed of the application result by email within 2 weeks after the submission of application (with full details).

Application (1st Round)

The purpose of the subsidies is to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation among students of the tertiary institutions and to encourage creative and constructive endeavours which are conducive to students’ learning and overall development. A joint student project is a project that is organised jointly by students from at least three or more tertiary institutions. The project can be on any subject matter which may or may not be related to the applicants’ subject of studies. The project can be undertaken locally or abroad.

Eligibility

The Fund shall be open for application by all full-time students of the 12 institutions as individuals or student societies.

Assessment Criteria

Awards will be on a competitive basis, and consideration will be given to the overall merit of each application including:

  • creativity and originality of the project;
  • its contribution to the promotion of student activities and student services in general; and
  • its overall viability in implementation.

Priority will be given to worthwhile projects which involve a large number of students whether as participants or organisers.

From 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026

Application for Student-initiated Multi-Cultural and Multi-Lingual Enhancement Programmes Campus Fund (MMCF)

 

Introduction

The Student-initiated Multi-Cultural and Multi-Lingual Enhancement Programmes Campus Fund (MMCF) is a new funding scheme which adopts a bottom-up approach with an aim to facilitate students in organizing programmes for language learning and cultural exchange. Students can apply for MMCF for subsidizing any activities with the objective(s) of language learning and/or cultural exchange such as, but not limited to, global cinema followed by discussion, introduction to cuisines of different countries, world classics reading club, attending cultural and art appreciation programmes and conducting field trips to historic sites in Hong Kong, China for cultural appreciation etc.

Application:
1. Please submit your Application Form with all the attachments 2 weeks before the programme date via email to [email protected].

2. OSA will inform the applicants within 1 week of the result.

3. Enjoy your MMCF programme.

4. Submit programme report to OSA within 1 month for reimbursement.
