Meet in Ink: Fai Chun Workshop

Fai Chun is a way of conveying blessings and well wishes. As the Lunar New Year approaches, join us for an experience to learn the basic techniques of traditional Chinese calligraphy and create your own Chinese New Year Fai Chun!  

This workshop features:    

• A guided tour of Sensing Things, the current Chinese art exhibition held at the Chamber of Young Snow Art Exhibition Hall.  

• A demonstration by a professional calligraphy instructor.  

• An opportunity to learn about traditional Chinese art and culture.  

• A chance to create Chinese New Year Fai Chun to take home with you.

Instructors’ Bio  

Kayla Liu Yekun is currently enrolled in the MACAH programme at Lingnan University. She is a qualified calligraphy instructor who majored in calligraphy during her undergraduate studies and won several calligraphy competitions. Kayla specialises in semi-cursive and clerical script and has honed her skills through years of practice and training.  

Li Yifan is currently enrolled in the MACAH programme at Lingnan University and is a member of the Calligraphy Association. Her undergraduate major was calligraphy. She specialised in calligraphy techniques, traditional Chinese painting, and calligraphy research. She has won numerous art competitions and is trained to teach fine art.
