| Introduction: | Making a film is all about transforming your ideas into visuals and sound, inviting audiences into the world of your story.
In this carefully designed 10-session workshop, you will learn essential skills step by step, including storytelling, cinematography, lighting, storyboard planning, and post-production editing. Under the guidance of professional instructors, you will complete your own production.
The course also incorporates Lingnan University's self-developed gamified teaching software, CineSim, allowing you to apply and practice what you learn immediately through simulated scenarios and interactive exercises.
Upon completing all sessions, you and your team members will collaborate to produce a short film of approximately 10 minutes over a two-month period. Industry experts will guide you, using Lingnan University's professional filmmaking equipment and production stipend.
Your film will premiere at a theatrical screening event in early 2026, where you can share your work with friends, family, and the public. Students who achieve 90% attendance will also receive a certificate of completion issued by Lingnan University. |

| Course Instructor: | This workshop is designed and coordinated by Mr Tobby Shiu Tao KAN, Senior Lecturer from the Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries at Lingnan University. The course will be taught by experienced professional instructors with extensive industry expertise. Combining theory and practice, the teaching team will provide practical training and creative guidance to help students master the fundamentals of filmmaking, enhance visual storytelling abilities, and cultivate creative expression skills. |
